About Me
Who I am
I am an artist and furniture re-designer. I take found treasure and turn it into something unique and beautiful. I mostly power carve tables and play with resin. I have also been known to create pride flag jewelry, recover furniture, knit a mug koozie and design a chandelier. I like to throw together something fabulous when the creative urge strikes. I also do a bit of writing that has nothing to do with my wood work. If curious you can check that out below. I am a mother to two wonderful children, 2 dogs, a cat and a goldfish.
How it started
I began working with henna after a trip with my best friend to New Orleans. I got a henna tattoo on my hand and fell in love with the way it stained the skin. As soon as I got home I felt inspired to see how the henna reacted with wood. I was looking for a unique way to redecorate a wood desk and put the two together. I also wanted to try out power carving so i carved a design with a dremel on the top of the desk and used crushed turquoise for the inlay material.
What I do
My favorite type of medium is power carving tables. I have created many different one of a kind coffee tables, end tables, and bar tables. I find older tables all over; at antique malls, estate sales, even on the side of the road. I will work with you on a piece of furniture you already own or I can help you find the perfect piece for your space and turn it into art. Below are examples of my work.
